DEAR GIRL

adrielamana
You are Bold
You Special
You are Unique,
You are Enough,
You are Beautiful
You deserve all the Best,
You are too Real to be compared to magazine girls
You are worthy more than just an Insta/Facebook post...........

I have this girlfriend of mine who had a mean low self-esteem, to an extent that she felt insecure of herself sometimes. She always worried about her thick body, what she wore and the opinions of those around her; one day something happened while we were outside after church, she had a bunch of guys criticizing her and the ultimate result of this was a serious breakdown. And also, a decision to leave church for good, thats when l knew l had to step in as a true friend.
l told her that:

  • she should live with people and not live for them
  • people will always talk crap whether you  do good/bad or look beautiful/ugly
  • she should know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, BUT they ain't FACTS
  • she was beautifully and wonderfully made by GOD,so no one has any right to tell her otherwise..
  • beauty comes in different colors, shapes and sizes......
This to mean that if you DON'T stand up to these nasty comments and LIVE up to them you gonna have serious problem. You can never run away form such but you can at least stop them from hurting you.

  • S- stay from toxic people💨
  • T-try to  succumbed to nasty comments /overthink
  • I-ignore negative comments
  • C-continue praying for wisdom/to seek inspiration
  • K-keep visualising

WE ARE WHAT WE WEAR

CLOTHING CHOICES AFFECT AND REFLECT YOUR  SELF_IMAGE

In this 21st century, we are living in many fashion trends and labels such as Gucci,Addidas,Nike,Fenty Puma......,have emerged and have attracted the attention of both young and old. This is a very good thing but,its important to note that when we put on these pieces of clothings we cannot avoid the fact that there is possibility that we may tend to adopt some the characteristics associated with these very clothes unaware. For example, if am wearing a pair of skinnies,T-shirt and sneakers, l will be more relaxed and tomboyish; similarly if l'm in formal clothing my step and how l hold myself in public is altered. So sometimes we don't need to tell our story our clothes DO. This is simply because what we wear can affect and reflect our mood/attitude,confidence,moral values,religion/background and even one's character.

The truth of the matter is that many young ladies and men have lost themselves while chasing different fashion trends ,just to fit in in a certain crew or in pursuit of being labelled as "cool" and as having "swag".Although, both genders are victims of what they wear the most vulnerable are girls.A girl wearing  wearing a  mini- skirt and a crop can attract comments such as that "she's   prostitute/slut/whore,attention seeker.."Similarly ,to a girl wearing a long dress can be labelled as being a"church freak","miss Holy''.Even as l was  going through the internet, it is said nintey percent (90%) of ladies and teenage girls abandon their wardrobes to go and look for clothes they think boosts their confidence.

Nomatter, how many times you try to change your clothes if you don't have confidence from within you can't extract it from clothes you wear, but what you will gain from that is judgment upon yourself from people around you. What is is being confident?Different schools of thoughts have deduced that its having a positive mental attitude. As such l think we should be more vigilant when picking out what clothes we would like to wear.

P.S :There are 2 types of girls that can be summed up by judging from what we wear; tomboys,girly_girls/ladies.The beautiful thing about being both of the mentioned girls is that you enjoy the BEST of both worlds. My advice is that never change who you are because of critics just BE YOU.
